"In my embroidered pictures, glimpses of everyday life
merge with fragments of memory. Needle and thread offer a way
of working that is simple and direct. This process is slow and
deliberate, in contrast to the fleeting moments that trigger each
piece. Dyed threads provide colors that are lustrous and clear.
Stitch by stitch, the fluidity of thread is transformed into
something layered and dense. I have been inspired by the intimacy
and symbolic intensity of badges and stitched emblems,
and by the storytelling traditions found in historic textiles."
