enamored of its dense, plush surface. I felt a jolt of recognition, as if I were meeting
a dear, old friend, whom I'd only previously met in a dream. Seeing the
tiny, glossy loops of sewing thread filled me with warmth and recognition . . .
More than a first encounter, it was a deeply heartening reunion."
